Scouts
Scouts is open to young people aged between 10½ and 14½. We meet every Thursday evening and take part in a range of activities such as cooking, map reading, first aid, tracking and creative challenges. As well as meeting every Thursday we sometimes meet at weekends for day trips, visits and camps.

Camping is an important part of Scouting and at 19th Whitley Bay we try to hold 4-5 camping trips a year. This includes weekend camps during and autumn and winter months and week camps in the summer. While camping we take part in variety of activities such as hiking, fire building, wide-games, canoeing and kayaking, climbing and abseiling, archery and shooting and lots more.

Our troop has 4 Patrols, Eagles Patrol, Hawks Patrol, Falcons Patrol and Owls Patrol. The names of the patrols were chosen by the Scouts when we introduced patrols in April 2009. Each patrol has a Patrol Leader and Assistant Patrol Leader who are responsible for organising the Patrol and helping younger patrol members during activities.

In addition to all the interesting activities we take part in we also play lots of games both indoors and outdoors. We meet every Thursday at Eccles Hall in Earsdon between 7:00pm and 9:00pm, if you're aged between 10½ and 14½ come along to see what else we do!
